The Bay Area Dragon Boat Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and our primary focus is dragon boat racing. Our racing team is known as the Bay Area Dragons (a.k.a. BAD). We have some of the most experienced dragon boat paddlers in Northern California. Formed in 1996, the Bay Area Dragon Boat Foundation provides coaching, steering, and general support for our members and local teams.

We offer FREE dragon boat lessons every Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in Foster City. We provide the life jackets, paddles, boats, and expert coaching. A dragon boat is a 44 foot canoe that seats 20 paddlers.

We are in the Boat Park, the parking lot next to the dog park area. Walk to the water. You will see friendly people and 2 large boats. Introduce yourself and ask for Alvin, Steve, Andy, or Angie.
