Please note that this race is on back-to-back weekends with the Penang qualifier in Portland. BAD has scheduled no races in August, so be prepared to get your July/August dragon boat fix all in one shot!
In 2004 BAD placed 13th overall at Montreal. The race takes place on a beautiful Olympic rowing course on the St. Lawrence River near downtown Montreal. Your times show up on the scoreboard immediately after crossing the line, and you race in front of a huge grandstand of screaming Canadians. If you want to feel like the Olympic-caliber athlete that you deserve to be recognized as, this is the place to do it! This race offers both 500m and 250m disciplines.

NO PRACTICE on FRIDAY, JULY 27: I gave it some more thought, and I don't think it's worth it to hold practice on Friday before the race. First of all, the boats are BuKs, which we are used to. Second, we only have 11 people responding yes. It's probably more worth it to use our precious vacation relaxing after what will been a hard two weeks of racing. So again, NO PRACTICE on Friday, July 27.
RACE DAY: For those of you staying at the Hyatt Regency, please meet at the lobby and then proceed together to the race site. For all others, please be on site at 7:30 am.
Hosting: We will be hosted by our good friends Jetstart. If you can't find their tent when you arrive on site, you should be able to ask a race official.
Mixed racing: Unfortunately the race grid will not be available before Steve leaves for Portland. As far as I know, each mixed team will have two 500m races on Saturday. Races on Saturday are against the clock. Your Saturday times will determine which division you will race in on Sunday. Sunday will have 500m and 250m finals. Gender racing: We will be combining with Living Root Dragon Boat (Boston) and Hellfish (Ottawa) as "BAD Living Hell".
